»Seconds Out« war 1977 das zweite Livealbum von Genesis, das erste nach dem Ausstieg von Original-Sänger Peter Gabriel. Zwischen den Aufnahmen zum Album im Juni 1977 in Paris und seiner Veröffentlichung im Oktober verkündete auch Steve Hackett seinen Ausstieg aus der Band und hinterließ Genesis in der später so erfolgreichen Trio-Besetzung aus Phil Collins, Tony Banks und Mike Rutherford.
