»Synchronicity«, das fünfte und letzte Studioalbum von Police, wurde im Juni 1983 veröffentlicht. Es ist mit den Hit-Klassikern »Every Breath You Take«, »King Of Pain«, »Wrapped Around Your Finger« und »Synchronicity II« das erfolgreichste Album der Band und machte The Police zu weltweiten Superstars.

Das Album verkaufte sich über 8 Millionen Mal in den USA (8x Platin), 300.000 Mal in Großbritannien (1x Platin). Insgesamt wurden bis Ende 1983 weltweit über 20 Millionen Exemplare verkauft.
