„Rage Against the Machine“ (oder RATM) wurde 1991 in Los Angeles gegründet. „Evil Empire“ (1996) war der Nachfolger ihres äußerst erfolgreichen, selbstbetitelten Debütalbums (1992). „Evil Empire“ erreichte Platz 1 in den US-Charts, in Deutschland und Österreich reichte es „nur“ zu Position 2.
