Beschreibung
Die 1968 vom Kult-Schlagzeuger Mani Neumeier gegründete Formation Guru Guru gilt als bedeutender Vertreter des Krautrocks – obwohl sie sich selbst nie als Krautrock-Band bezeichnete.
Guru Guru ist in Gestalt von Neumeier immer noch musikalisch aktiv, der Rest der Besetzung wechselt kontinuierlich. Jedes alternative Festival von Burg Herzberg bis Finkenbach ist Spielwiese der Band.
Bis heute hat die Gruppe rund 40 Tonträger veröffentlicht. Am 4. Juni 1976 trat Guru Guru als erste deutsche Band im Rockpalast auf. Der komplette Auftritt ist zusammen mit dem zweiten Rockpalast-Auftritt vom 21. Dezember 2004 vollständig auf der 2CD/DVD »Live At Rockpalast« enthalten.
Hier bietet die Hippe-Formation eine farbenfrohe Mixtur aus Rock, Jazz und Klamauk mit unterschiedlichen Rhythmen wie Bossa Nova oder Tango. Ein großer musikalischer Spaß.
